"glass_trees"

The trees are glass

That move,

And shine;

A waver

In the blue

Whispers

Of a soft

Afternoon

I am upside down

Sitting

On the sky

Looking

Into the world

Over dangling feet

And

Tousled laces

You furnished flowers,

Of arms and legs

And fingers

A link

In the evolutionary chain

Of dubious heredity

Another single mother

Traffic-jam

Bent on a vengence;

Folded

Into squares

Love?

Was it love, you say?

I mopped tears

Pushed swings

Paid to work

And worked to pay

Wondered where you were

During bedtime stories

When the prince

On his white horse

Scoffed at me from

Fairytale pages

Whilst you

Lived your life;

You lived!

And how

I hated you

For that

But

Life is a wheel

It spins hair

Into yarn

Yarn into blankets

And me into

This

A woman

And

Oh!

See

How

I
