Darkness clung to the backs of my thighs,
I wrapped my knees around the dampness of nighttime
until the black seeped into the crevices of my skin and unfurled itself upon my body,
rather unexpectedly.
The lights sped passed me in rainbows
that tangled in my thoughts
until nothing in my mind was constant or cohesive.

—her lips pressed against the neck of what she thought was love.
I was her only witness.
But
I closed my eyes.
