The ice meandered casually across the blue glass in jet streams of silver crystal. Her mind darted and dashed in between the lines like a race car. Weaving through the heavy traffic of her thoughts at a speed that rendered little control over the maneuvering.
Her brain collapsed against the fear that clung to her like cellophane.
The stardust gripped the soles of her feet like fine jeweled shoes, as she danced in the silhouette of a big white moon. Silvery ribbons of light tangled in the trees, dropping between them in spirals that climbed toward the sky in shapes of neatly coiled ladders.
She pressed her feet against the rungs of moonlight.
This was her ascent into nothingness.
This was her goodbye.
